    Long Point Provincial Park

    This park is located on a 40 km (24.9 mi) stretch of land that juts from Ontario's southernmost border into Lake Erie. The United Nations recognizes this park as a biosphere reserve. The spot is a favourite for birds conducting migratory movements. Excellent bird-spotting can be had here in March.

    Point Farms Provincial Park

    Stand on the bluff in Point Farms to take in a breathtaking view of Lake Huron or a stunning sunset. Swim in the warm lake waters adjacent to the sand and pebble beach. Two hundred camping spots are available, as well as numerous day use sites.

    Roth Park Trail
    Easy family walking can be done at this 5.75 km (3.57 mi) long trail. Cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing can also be done here. Located on the south side of Pittock Lake, visitors have a beautiful view of the lake. Picnic tables are also available here.

    Woodlands Arboretum and Nature Centre
    Travel the lovely nature trails through uplands, meadows and wetlands, or visit the nut grove where food is grown for wildlife. Over 120 Native and Carolinian trees are rooted in Woodlands Arboretum. This recognized site of the Audubon Society is open all year round.

    Backus Heritage Conservation Area

    The Backus Heritage Conservation Area is 1,240 acres (.40 hectare) of nature and history. Stroll to the Heritage Village museum which is home to exhibits from the Long Point area in the 19th century. Learn about the plants, animals and birds that call the conservation area home at the Conservation Education Centre. Nature walks and special events are held through out the season (May to October. Located west of the village of Turkey Point.

    Meadow Rue Corner
    Situated in Lower Queens Park is Meadow Rue Corner, a park featuring a collection of small naturalized gardens containing mostly indigenous plants. The park is also a playground for various species of bird, butterflies and other wildlife. The park is open from May to September.

    Confederation Park Stratford
    Confederation Park is located off of Romeo Street, beside the Stratford Gallery. This small Japanese Garden incorporates a waterfall with Birch and Evergreen trees. It was designed in 1967 to commemorate 100 years of confederation.

    Storybook Gardens

    Storybook Gardens offers a day filled with fun for the whole family. Famous storybook characters, playgrounds and flower gardens are scattered throughout the park. The park is also a mini zoo, with 43 species of birds, mammals and reptiles. Storybook Gardens also has daily entertainment, a merry-go-round, a miniature train and a Thames River cruise boat.

    Pinafore Park

    This local park on the south side of St Thomas offers a wildlife sanctuary, base ball and tennis facilities, flower gardens, picnic shelters, a play area and more. The park also offers a small lake and swimming pool. Because the park hosts many event and live music throughout the year, a band shell also resides within the park.

    This park is situated on a large bluff overlooking Lake Erie. The area is rife with woodland trails and flowers during the spring time. The Backus Page Museum, illustrating the Talbot settlement history, is close to the park.

    Pinery Provincial Park

    This extremely popular park on the shores of Lake Huron is known for its interpretive program - winter excursions, guided hikes and evening programs are just some of the numerous activities offered. Pinery is home to one of the largest groups of Oak Savanna trees in North America, making it a nature lover’s delight. Many camping spots are available, but it is strongly advised to book well in advance.

    Turkey Point Provincial Park

    Located south of the village of Turkey Point, this provincial park is the only one in Ontario to feature a nine-hole golf course. The terrain ranges from marshes, an oak savanna and bluffs. Wildlife viewing, gazing at Lake Eire, bass fishing and general roaming are great pastimes at Turkey Point.
